The electricians came in yesterday to correctly rewire the ceiling light fixture that the building super had incorrectly wired, which started this whole electrical problem a couple of weeks ago. On completion, however, they failed to securely affix the lens that covers the naked bulbs hanging from the ceiling, and when I walked into my bedroom yesterday, I was greeted by a combination of shrapnel and glass dust all over the floor. I'm preparing to challenge (and defeat) all of them, the super and the electricians, in righteous, hand-to-hand battle.

So, the electricity's back on. The old breaker box has been replaced with a shiny new one, a baffling device filled with a dozen gleaming switches and sliders. I have absolutely no idea what it does, and even less of an idea of how I should be using it. You will rue the day that I figure it out.

When you've just seen something that you really don't want to acknowledge - something that terrifies you or forces you to develop a new perspective. That moment is falsely presented in movies as dark or seductive. In reality, lights are brighter, there's electricity in your joints, and you feel a distant need to vomit.

Electricity problems. I turn on the overhead light in my bedroom, and there's a sudden flare before the power goes down. I reset the breakers and call my super. He runs downstairs, knocks on my door, and terrifiedly tells me not to do that again. This new information makes me uncomfortable.
