Okay, this is the last time I'll talk about this this year, I swear. If you've been reading this with any regularity, you might know that I'm pretty obsessive about the amount of daylight that I'm exposed to. Here's my final update on this topic. Yesterday, when we lost that extra hour of daylight, and it got dark here at 4 p.m., I felt as though a bomb had been dropped on me. I'm trying today to figure out fixes for that, so I won't bother you any more with these complaints.

P.S. - There's a new review of the record out this week. I'll be jocking it below, all week long.
I've been trying to move along a steady line the last couple of weeks. The increased darkness is starting to get to me, and I'm feeling myself starting to get sucked into a pattern where I'm either dazed and staring at a wall, or I'm doing something indulgent to distract myself and get out of that mode. As I mentioned before, I'm working a lot on new material, as well as getting the live show ready, and that's really helping keep me on pace and keep me from checking out. A guy's gotta get comfort somewhere, right?

It's frustrating hearing about people I know through other people I know. The people I'm friends with tend to have such highly developed and nuanced perspectives on people that it's impossible to get any actual bearing on reality through what they report. It's like polarized lenses. When you look through one, you can see through it (accounting somewhat for the shade), but then you add another lens on top, twist it to an incompatible angle... and you can't see anything. If I made my judgments on the people around me based on what the other people around me were saying about them, I think I would hate everybody.

I mentioned earlier how upset I get about the transition across June 21st. I had forgotten about it on that day, but now, a week and a half later, it's impossible for me to not notice the days getting shorter. I hear that there are intolerably expensive pyramids that shine light on you so you forget that the world is, you know, dark.
